NAOMY SCHÖLLING - C.V.
Born in São
Paulo, Naomy Schölling is an extremely versatile artist - accomplished stage
actress as well as singer of classical and popular music.
In opera,
she was acclaimed by critic and public for her performances as Bastienne
in Mozart’s Bastien und Bastienne, and as Rita in Donizetti’s Rita,
at the São Paulo Opera House (Theatro Municipal de São Paulo); and as Ms
Wordsworth in Benjamin Britten’s Albert Herring, as Despina
in Mozart’s Così Fan Tutte, as Polly Peachum in Weill’s and Brecht’s
The Threepenny Opera, and again as Rita, at Theatro São Pedro
(the second most important Opera House in São Paulo).
As popular
singer, she has taken her show 100 Years of Brazilian Music to Dublin
(Ireland), San Salvador (El Salvador) and Panama City (Panama).
As an
actress, she has taken part in many productions in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro,
and throughout Brazil, having worked with some of the most important Brazilian
theatre directors.
For 7 years
she took part in Teatro Oficina / Grupo Oficina Uzyna Uzona
- directed by worldwide renowned Zé Celso Martinez Correa - having toured
Brazil twice with the group. In January
2012, the group presented their adaptation of Euripides’ tragedy The Bacchae
at the 23rd edition of the Europalia Arts Festivel in Liege,
Switzerland, and after that in Lisbon, Portugal.
From 2005 to 2012, while in Grupo Oficina, Naomy also naturally took the role as their Voice Coach.
From 03/2010 to 06/2013 Naomy
taught Theatrical Interpretation for Singers at the Music School of the
State of São Paulo (EMESP).
In November 2012, Naomy decided to leave the theatre group she had belonged to for 7 years (Oficina) to dedicate herself more to her own productions. In December she took her show 100 Hundred Years of Brazilian Music to San Salvador and Panama City and in april/may/june was in her own production of Opereta da Gramática (Grammar Opereta), which she adapted, directed, produced and in which she also stared.
At the moment Naomy is looking for sponsors for her other project aproved by Government Incentive Law ProAC ICMS, and is writing other projects and plays.
